Cheryl's Comments
"My two boys absolutely love playing with these blocks. They build different structures that are very creative, spell with them, learn about animals, and do math. These are definitely heirloom quality to pass on to their children."

Uncle Goose has been producing the highest quality American made alphabet blocks for 20 years. At 1-3/4" square, these are the largest embossed blocks made today.
This set of 27 ABC blocks is patterned after blocks from the turn-of-the-century, finely crafted and painted with colorful non-toxic inks.
What makes Uncle Goose blocks special are the two embossed letters on each block. The embossing process gives depth and detail to each block, so it appears to be carved (actually, the designs are pressed into the wood under immense pressure).
The upright edges of the blocks are chamfered to eliminate sharp corners and make the blocks more comfortable to hold.
Each block features a unique animal picture, a number or math symbol (+ - X, etc.), and four letters (two embossed), for a total of four complete alphabets. The name of each numeral is printed below the number, so that a child can learn how to spell these words. Similarly, the name of each animal is printed below the picture.
Uncle Goose blocks are tested regularly to ensure that they meet international standards on ink safety. In fact, Uncle Goose prides itself on the fact that its inks are so safe that even if a child consumed the entire set of blocks, the child would not be exposed to harmful substances. The same is true for household pets who may even chew on the blocks.
Uncle Goose blocks are made from basswood grown around the Great Lakes. Basswood is ideal for making blocks because it’s light-weight, light-colored and odor-free. Uncle Goose is committed to environmentally-appropriate wood harvesting and manufacturing.
The set includes 27 blocks plus a cotton canvas draw-string bag for easy storage.
